This is the theme song to Dangerous Minds, a movie about a new high school English teacher who’s given a class of inner city kids. The song spells out, and the movie spells out even more, how environmental factors affect people’s decision making. Environmental factors affect all of us all the time, and it can be hard to guess how factors that don’t affect us could affect other people. It’s easy to be judgmental of the decisions people make if you don’t understand the environment they’re living in.
